It's New Year's Eve and people are usually planning huge parties or chilling at home and watching the fireworks on TV after waiting a whole year to countdown to the New Year.
Along with this excitement of beginning the New Year, some of us like to look back on the year and take note of all the things that they did and all the things they still haven't done but want to do or change in their lives and so they make some resolutions.
Last year I didn't bother with resolutions or the year before for that matter. Come to think of it, I don't actually think I have ever bothered with it, but this year feels different. Looking back on last year, I only have a few things I would like to change and do more of in 2019 and they are:
Cook more - I love cooking but this year, I have been somewhat lazy with preparing and cooking my own meals this year and instead opting to buy foods that take only a few mins to cook rather than taking the time to make a meal from scratch and appreciate what goes into my food.
Go VEGAN, completely - Last year I did Veganuary and enjoyed it, so much that I have changed most of my food choices over to vegan alternatives. I have to admit though there have been some slip-ups, mainly with products that I have not been able to find an alternative for or can't get them in the shops near me.
Take for example I love cheese, yoghurt and want to try tofu, but for me to a shop that sells these kinds of products, I would have to travel almost 45 mins by a hot, crowded bus to get to a town that sells these as the supermarket in my town does not stock much in the way of vegan food other than the obvious fruits and vegetables... it's ridiculous.
In 2019 I want to completely cut any remaining animal products out of my diet this year for good, whether that means I have to make the sacrifice of not getting my much-needed cheese fix.
Exercise more - I haven't been doing it as much as I would like to have been an exercise is key to looking after yourself which I feel I have not been the best at doing this year... sorry body. Things have just been so stressful this year, with renovations, hubby's health, it's all been a little too much I would like to take better care of myself in 2019 and get in more time to exercise and stay fit and healthy.
Finish some of the renovations - A few of you may know that I started renovating our place, as cosy as it is for us it needs a lot of work and I mean a lot. The floors alone are a nightmare not to mention the draughty bay windows that seem to draw all the cold straight into our home. There are a lot of things that need doing and if I could get the new kitchen in and the floors done in there I am happy, I just need to get myself more motivated.
Start making videos! - Yeah, I know my life may not be the most adventurous and thrilling but I feel like it would be fun to share a part of it with my ever-growing community in the form of vlogs or youtube videos whether it be me working on the renovations to videos of what the cats get up to during the day or when we are not home... I have always wanted to know.
