On my missions to find organic alternatives to everyday life items it was obvious that that would include the much loved morning cup of coffee. Conventional coffee is among some of the most heavily treated foods in the world when it comes to chemicals such as herbicides, fungicides pesticides and insecticides all of which end up in your cup. So when it came to making a switch to organic coffee there were no questions about it, I am doing it, the only problem is there are so many to pick from. When it comes to organic the range is ever increasing as more and more brands turn to better methods to grow the better organic coffee bean. That's when it came to me, an opportunity I couldn't pass up, a chance to review Bird & Wild's shade-grown organic coffee. I was sent a bag of their Seasonal Blend of ground coffee and couldn't wait to try it. When opening Bird & Wilds bag of coffee, you can see it is a lot darker in colour, the smell is a lot richer and even a hint of smokiness to it compared to regular coffee and the granules are a lot more refined.
(Left: Conventional Coffee Right: Organic shade-grown coffee) Now to the taste, it's amazing, a little sweeter than regular coffee so if you won't need a lot of sugar if any, I especially like mine with a little coconut milk rather than sugar but we all like it a different way. I drank about four cups of Bird & Wild coffee on the first day of getting it. Priced at £4.99 for a 200g bag of seasonal or espresso blend I believe it really is great quality coffee what you're paying, but if you think this is too expensive ask your self this... how much is your health worth to you? I honestly can't wait to try the other coffees that they offer.
